आदमी का मन अनेक प्रकार की शक्तियों का केंद्र है। इसकी अपार शक्ति की थाह पाना कठिन है। मन की दृढ़ता से मनुष्य में व्यक्तित्व का विकास होता है और श्रेष्ठ व्यक्तित्व ही तो जीवन है। इसलिए मन की शक्तियों में आस्था रखना उन्नति का प्रथम सोपान है। मन से ही आत्मा विश्वास उत्पन्न होता है। आत्मविश्वास से ही मनुष्य शक्तियों को एक दिशा में लगाता है और उन्नति के लिए यत्न करता है। इसी आत्मविश्वास से मनुष्य में दृढ़ता आती है तथा वह अपने आपको असमर्थ और अशक्त समझने के बजाय सामर्थ्यवान अनुभव करने लगता है।

Man's mind is the center of many types of powers. Its immense power is difficult to fathom. With the firmness of mind, personality develops in a man and the best personality is life. That's why having faith in the powers of the mind is the first step to progress. Self-confidence arises from the mind itself. It is with self-confidence that man puts his powers in one direction and tries for progress. With this confidence comes firmness in man and instead of considering himself incapable and weak, he starts feeling powerful.
